Closing the MLK, Jr. Location
The event will commemorate 7 years of food, fun and fellowship at one of Portland ’s remaining African-American owned and operated family restaurant in Northeast Portland .

Celebrities Al Roker, the late Gerald Levert, football great Herschel Walker along with civic leaders have dined, danced and drooled over the array of delectable treats lining the shelves of the bakery display case.

“The love that has evolved out of Hannah Bea’s can’t be contained within the four walls that we have called home,” stated Saan Patterson, Chief Chef at Hannah Bea’s “. . . but in the hearts of our families and friends who have shared their love over the past seven years.”

Hannah Bea’s Poundcake and More is the namesake of Anita Smith’s 93 year-old mother Hannah Jo Warren Johnson and mother-in-law the late Beatrice Smith. The wholesome goodness and signature taste of Hannah Bea’s stems from her young years growing up on a farm in Texas . There she learned to appreciate the natural taste of food by raising livestock and growing vegetables, as well as making and cooking food from scratch.

The restaurant will officially close its doors on Monday, June 30th and everyone is encouraged to place their orders early to secure “Miss Anita’s Famous Poundcake.”
